November 18, 2014
The Miner County Board of Commissioners met in regular session November 18, 2014, in the Miner County Courthouse. Members present: Roger Wentland, Garrett Gassman, Don Bowman, Alex Protsch and Voni Durant. Absent: none. Chairman Wentland called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Durant, seconded by Gassman and carried to approve the agenda as amended.
The minutes of November 6th were approved.
Commissioners acknowledged receipt of a letter from the Canova Community Improvement organization requesting funds to support improvements at the Canova baseball field. This item will be placed on a future 2015 meeting agenda for consideration.
Auditor Connor presented an email from Sherri Matthews of Wellmark with preliminary renewal premiums for health coverage. A formal proposal will be available for consideration at the December 2nd meeting.
RESOLUTION 14-27
WHEREAS, insufficient appropriation was made in the 2014 budget for the following departments to discharge just obligation of said appropriation; and
WHEREAS, SDCL 7-21-32.2 provides that transfers may be made by resolution of the board from the contingency appropriation established pursuant to SDCL 7-21-6.1 to other appropriations;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the appropriation be transferred from contingency to Domestic Abuse Fund $120. Voting aye: Protsch, Durant, Gassman, Bowman and Wentland. Voting nay: none. Resolution approved this 18th day of November 2014.

Motion by Protsch, seconded by Durant and carried to authorize the auditor to make an automatic supplement to the Emergency Management/Sheriff Equipment for grant funds received $4000.
Highway superintendent Ron Krempges and Steve Bentele of Northern Truck Equipment joined the meeting for the bid opening for a 2014 or newer gravel end dump pup trailer as advertised. One bid was received from Northern Truck Equipment Corp. $40,889.00. Motion by Gassman, seconded by Bowman and carried to award the bid to Northern Truck Equipment for $40,889.00.
Krempges also reported that he is working on bid specifications for a new skid steer. Advertisement for bids will be placed with opening of bids taking place on December 16th.
Brad Stangohr of Ulteig reported on issues and cleanup matters associated with the courthouse parking lot project. The board reviewed information on liquidated damages as described in the contract documents and DOT specifications.
