The Miner County Board of Commissioners met in regular session June 4, 2019 in the Miner County Courthouse. Members present: Roger Wentland, Garrett Gassman, Tom Reisch, Voni Durant and Alex Protsch. Absent: none. Chairman Wentland called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Motion by Durant, seconded by Gassman and carried to approve the agenda. The minutes of the May 21st meeting were approved. No one appeared for Public Comment.
The auditor’s account with the county treasurer showed an April 30, 2019 balance of $7,519,611.45 in all state, county, civil, school and trust accounts.

It was moved by Durant, seconded by Gassman and carried to approve the request of Wilde Air Service to permit the landing of aircraft on Miner County highways (county roads only) as authorized in SDCL 50-2-2.1 with Wilde Air Service assuming all liability when using said county roads.
Miner County received a Sub recipient Agreement between the South Dakota Department of Health (SDDOH) and Miner County with regard to the WIC program. It was moved by Reisch, second by Durant and carried unanimously to approve the agreement between Miner County and the SDDOH for WIC services.
The board considered the request of Kingbrook Rural Water for a Right-of-Way Easement on Lot Five (5) and Lot Six (6) of Block Two (2) Windedahl’s Addition in the City of Carthage, Miner County, South Dakota. These lots are owned by Miner County. It was moved by Protsch, seconded by Gassman and carried to approve the Right-of-Way Easement on the above mentioned county owned property.
Pat Carmon, Miner County Treasurer met with the board to review the delinquent tax list and properties that are eligible for tax deed proceedings.
Ron Krempges, Miner County Highway Superintendent reviewed equipment repairs and future purchases. He also informed the board of road repairs completed on 440A Ave along Silver Lake. Riprap has been added to prevent further erosion of the road.
The board adjourned as a Board of Commissioners and reconvened as a Planning & Zoning Board. Todd Kays of First District Association of Local Governments continued the review & discussion of the current Miner County Zoning Ordinance. The board will continue their review at the July 2nd meeting.
