JOINT MEETING OF THE MINER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS &
PLANNING & ZONING BOARD
The joint meeting of the Miner County Board of Commissioners and the Miner County Planning & Zoning Board met in special session August 31, 2021 at the Miner County 4-H Exhibit Hall. Members present included: Alex Protsch, Tom Reisch, Garrett Gassman, Kathy Faber & Roger Wentland. Absent: none. The meeting was called to order by Planning & Zoning Chairman Garrett Gassman. The flag pledge was recited. Motion by Protsch, seconded by Faber and carried to approve the agenda.
Consideration was held of Ordinance 2021-03 (Medical Marijuana)– An ordinance to Amend Article 12 “commercial/industrial District, Section 1201.02, “Permitted Uses”; Article 3, “Establishment of Districts, Article 16, “Supplementary Regulations”, and Article 2, Definitions, adopted by Ordinance 04-01, as amended, of the zoning Ordinance of Miner County. Chairman Gassman opened the Public Hearing to consider Ordinance 04-01. Those present for the public hearing included Zoning Administrator Tami Severson and Colleen Arens. No testimony in favor of or in opposition to was received. Gassman closed the public hearing.
It was moved by Reisch, seconded by Faber and carried unanimously to recommend approval of Ordinance 2021-03 to the Board of County Commissioners.
The board adjourned as a Planning & Zoning Board and reconvened as a Board of Commissioners. Protsch took the chair. Commissioners held the first reading of Ordinance 2021-03 (Medical Marijuana)– An ordinance to Amend Article 12 “commercial/industrial District, Section 1201.02, “Permitted Uses”; Article 3, “Establishment of Districts, Article 16, “Supplementary Regulations”, and Article 2, Definitions, adopted by Ordinance 04-01, as amended, of the zoning Ordinance of Miner County. The second reading will be held on September 7, 2021 at 9:45 a.m. at the Miner County 4-H Exhibit Hall.
Consideration of Ordinance 2021-02 an ordinance creating licensing provisions for cannabis establishments within the unincorporated areas of Miner County. After discussion was held, it was moved by Faber, seconded by Gassman and carried unanimously to approve Ordinance 2021-02. First Reading was held. The date for the second reading of Ordinance 2021-02 was set for September 7, 2021 at 9:50 a.m. at the Miner County 4-H Exhibit Hall.
It was moved by Faber, seconded by Gassman and carried to enter into executive session at 9:08. The board returned to regular session at 9:17. Motion by Gassman, seconded by Faber and carried unanimously to set the custodian’s hours at 30 hours per week effective August 30th.
Having no further business, the meeting adjourned to September 7th. Dated this 31st day of August, 2021.
